Jean Reynolds with 9 of 12 Children

Here is another excellent example of how newspaper research can lead you to more members of your family tree. My dad always told me about his Uncle Gordon and Aunt Jean, and how he believed they had 14 or 15 kids. He recalled the last 2 or 3 they had at home and had a difficult time getting birth certificates for them.

With that many kids, you couldn’t blame him for not remembering all his cousins names. Now, thanks to this photo and caption he forwarded me, I have a good portion of their names and ages. On top of that, I have the name of another newspaper I can try to find archives for.
